Lunchtime visit to Titchfield Haven

On Friday 6th May i visited Titchfield Haven at lunch time for an hour or so.

Butterflies included:

Red Admiral - 1
Green-veined White - 8
Brimstone - 2
Orange Tip - 6
Peacock - 2
Speckled Wood - 1

Odonata included:

Large Red Damselfly - 6
Azure Damselfly - 8

A quick visit to Martin Down

I had a quick visit to Martin Down yesterday morning (09:00 - 10:30) to see what butterflies were sitting out in the full sun. The sky was blue and the sun warm out of the cold wind. I managed to find a few to photograph in a sunny spot in the southern section of the down. Buterflies seen were

Dingy Skipper - 3

Bentley Wood sightings

I spent the late morning Saturday at Bentley Wood
hoping to see newly emerged Pearl-bordered
Fritillaries. In the end I saw 3 or 4 in the eastern
clearing and managed a
few photos.
